On behalf of our church family,

Welcome to our church! We hope this gives you a bit of a glimpse into who we are and why we are excited to be followers of Jesus.

Wherever you are at in your understanding and heart for Jesus, we would love to journey with you. There is no entrance examination required for participation, just a desire to learn about God and love your neighbour.
Whether you’re a mature believer or just curious to check out this “Jesus thing,” we welcome you to join us in our quest to know God better through our Sunday morning worship, through our dedication to Jesus’ life and teaching and through loving service to the world around us.
We wish you God’s strength and blessing on your faith journey, and we are eager to help you in any way that we can.

  • GROUNDWORK – Easter Hope: Christ is Risen! Alleluia! As we rejoice in Jesus’ life this Easter, join us on Groundwork as we reflect on Psalm 16 and Acts 2:22-28. See how these passages speak to Christ’s victory over the grave and what this means for us. Find a local radio station or listen now at www.GroundworkOnline.com.
  • KIDS CORNER – Risen Indeed: Jesus died to pay for our sins, but why is it so important that he rose from the dead? Experience how our Savior conquered sin, death, and Satan for us all on this week’s Kids Corner. Then check out Kids Corner at www.kidscorner.net
  • PRAYER REQUEST – From Back to God Ministries International: Prayers are requested for BTGMI French ministry leader Rev. Paul Mpindi and his wife Charlotte Mpindi, as well as Pastor Jacky Chéry (BTGMI/CRWM leader from Haiti) who are in Bangui, Central African Republic (CAR), where war has broken out between government troops and rebel forces in Bangui. Pray that they may be able to leave the country in safety. Pray also that the indigenous staff in Bangui may be safe, and that peace may be restored.
  • FREE WEBINARS – Three new events are scheduled for Deacons and Elders. On April 24, “Be An Effective Deacon in Today’s Church” will identify the main roles of the deacon, and how they can be more effective with benevolence needs and encourage good stewardship. On May 1, Roy Berkenbosch and Terry Woodnorth will present on the Office of Deacon Task Force’s report in “Diakonia Remixed: Preparing the Church for Larger Ministry.” On May 8, “Elder Visits in the 21st Century” will examine all aspects of the visit by exploring very practical “how to” steps in every type of household represented in our congregations. For more information and registration visit: crcna.org/webinars.
  • HOME MISSIONS – Today, we rejoice that Christ arose from the dead and has offered us a new life in Him. New Life Rising, the Easter theme Home Missions has chosen this year, celebrates the new life we have in Christ and the abundant opportunities we each have to share this message with others. Thank you for supporting Home Missions in the special offering taken today. If you would like to read more about Home Missions or to donate online, please go to the CRHM website at www.crhm.org
  • REFUGEE SUNDAY 2013 – Since 1979, Christian Reformed Churches across Canada have been showing God’s mercy to people who have fled their countries due to persecution and war. April 7, is Refugee Sunday in the Christian Reformed Churches in Canada. In many churches across Canada, we will be celebrating the fact that CRC members have been “Proud to Protect Refugees” through sponsorship and settlement. Learn more about Refugee Sunday and Refugee Sponsorship at www.worldrenew.net/refugeesponsorship or contact Rose Dekker or Rebecca Walker at 905-336-2920 for more information. • An End to CIDA: – On March 21, the Canadian government announced that the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) would be amalgamated into a new department known as the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development. All existing agreements with CIDA will be honoured. This means that the support that World Renew currently receives from the Canadian government for programs in Bangladesh, Honduras, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Senegal and its work through the Canadian Foodgrains Bank will continue. The future of Canadian foreign aid, however, is unclear. Please pray that the Canadian government will continue to make those in poverty a priority and will make decisions based on need rather than its own trade interests.

March 10, 2013 Offering Deacons Fund

As most of you are aware, the Deacons Fund is used to assist those in our church community, as well as those in the greater community of Terrace. Within our church, the Deacons Fund is used for purchasing flowers for the sick, or the birth of a child, along with giving goodie packages to our seniors at Christmas time. Others uses would include food certificates for the hungry, bus tickets for the traveler, or a hotel night for the weary. This is a well used fund that allows you, through the Deacons, to show God’s love to those who need it most.
